Amidst all the strange, unpredictable, heartbreaking, upsetting things that 2020 brought, our director Araceli Lemos and editors Raphaelle Martin-Holger and Michael Meehan worked hard on the edit of our latest feature, HOLY EMY (co-produced with Greece and France, co-written by Giulia Caruso and shot by Ki Jin Kim).
We’re incredibly proud to announce that we just won the First Cut+ Award for post-production, presented at “When East Meets West”. Thank you to Matthieu Darras, Ilaria Gomarasca and everyone involved for believing in our project! We can’t wait to share it with the world!

We spent three months in Greece to make this movie, it was challenging, fun, exciting, exhausting, and inspiring. A big thank you to our amazing Greek crew for their talent and passion, to our fearless Greek producer Konstantinos Vassilaros of StudioBauhaus who made the impossible possible, and to our insanely brave, talented, tireless cast. There are few words to express the performances they put in front of the camera, and we can’t wait to share them with you all.

We’re beyond thrilled to announce our upcoming feature project MOONSHADOW, directed by the amazing Silas Howard. We are producing with Gunpowder & Sky and Justin Lin’s YOMYOMF.
Moonshadow is a horror movie set in a conversion camp for trans teenagers, and it’s a project that is very dear to us since we started developing the idea with Daniel Foerste, who is co-writing with Ernesto Foronda.

We were selected to participate in the IFP Project Forum in New York City in the Fall with Vera Brunner-Sung’s sophomore feature Bitterroot! It’s been a wonderful development journey with Vera, discovering the Hmong community in Montana and we’re excited to share this project with the world!

When we started this journey to distribute COLUMBUS as part of the Sundance Creative Distribution Fellowship, we had little to no idea of how to do it, but we were very excited to learn.
After a long year of trying and learning, we are thrilled to share with you all the Case Study that the team at Sundance put together to gather insight and data on how this creative distribution works, if it works, when it works, and what you need to think about as you consider self-distributing your movies.
It’s hard to sum this experience up in a few words, but going through this process has changed and opened up the way we think about movies in ways that we could never have anticipated.

It’s been a crazy couple of years, an insane couple of months between COLUMBUS opening in theaters on August 4th, and our daughter coming into the world JUST the night before.
We are so honored and humbled to have been nominated for the Piaget Producers Award 2018. It means the world to be recognized for the hard work that producers put into making independent films, work that often goes unseen, unnoticed, and un-praised. When a producer does their best work, often others don’t even realize all the work they put in behind the scenes to ensure that everything would be smooth.
So here is to independent producers: we see you, we love you, and you are ROCKS.

Lost LA brings Southern California history to life by marrying archival materials from the L.A. as Subject research alliance with innovative forms of documentary storytelling. Hosted by public historian Nathan Masters of USC Libraries, each episode of "Lost L.A." brings the primary sources of Los Angeles history to the screen in surprising new ways.
