andrew ahn

Andrew Ahn is a Korean-American filmmaker born and raised in Los Angeles. His award-winning debut feature SPA NIGHT premiered at Sundance in 2016 to great critical acclaim and won the Cassavetes Independent Spirit Award. His second feature, DRIVEWAYS, premiered at Berlinale in 2019, was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and is distributed by FilmRise.

His work as TV director includes episodes of Gentefied for Netflix, Generation for HBOMax and Pride for FX.

Ahn is an alum of Film Independent’s Project Involve and has promoted diversity in the arts by mentoring youth filmmakers through organizations like Sundance, Outfest and Film Independent. He graduated from Brown University and received an MFA in Film Directing from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).
